Guides for UAE Studios
& Print Labs
Colour accuracy, archival longevity, and consistent output — these are the things that matter to UAE photographers, studios, and fine-art print labs. These guides break down each Epson SureColor P-series machine by who it's built for, what it actually costs to run locally, and when a different machine would serve you better.
Epson SureColor P-Series —
Built for Colour-Critical Output
The SureColor P-series is Epson's professional photo and fine-art printer line. Every machine in this range uses UltraChrome pigment inks with multiple black and grey channels — the architecture that gives them a colour gamut wider than sRGB and archival ratings measured in decades, not years.
In the UAE and wider GCC market, demand comes from two directions. On one side: portrait studios, event photographers, and photo kiosk operators in Dubai and Abu Dhabi who need consistent, accurate output on photo paper. On the other: fine-art print labs, interior design firms, and hotel-sector print rooms producing large-format canvas, fine-art paper, and backlit displays.
The P-series spans from a 13-inch desktop unit for a photographer's home studio right up to a 64-inch production machine for commercial labs. The guides on this page tell you exactly where each model fits and what it costs to run on locally available Epson inks and media.
Epson SureColor P-Series — UAE Use Cases
Four machines across two tiers. Each guide covers who it's for, running costs in the UAE, and when to walk away.

Epson's compact 13-inch pro photo printer with a 10-colour UltraChrome HD ink set including Violet channel. Designed for working photographers, portrait studios, and home-based print businesses in Dubai that need gallery-quality output without the footprint of a large-format machine.

The 17-inch step up from the P700 — same 10-colour UltraChrome HD ink set, larger output, and a built-in spectrophotometer option for closed-loop colour management. The machine most often specified by UAE photo studios handling A2 and panoramic print orders.

Epson's 44-inch production photo printer with a 10-colour UltraChrome HDX ink set and roll-media capability. The right machine for UAE fine-art print labs, hotel interior print rooms, and photography studios handling large-format canvas and panoramic wall art at commercial volume.

Epson's flagship 64-inch production photo printer — the machine at the top of the P-series stack. Built for commercial fine-art labs, high-volume exhibition printers, and enterprise print operations in the UAE and GCC that need gallery-grade output at scale. Full use-case guide coming shortly.
SC-P700 vs P900 vs P9500 vs P20500

Why 10 Channels Change the Output
Consumer photo printers typically run 6 ink channels. The SureColor P-series uses up to 10 — adding a Violet channel, multiple grey/light-black channels, and in some configurations a Green channel. The practical result is smoother gradients in portrait skin tones, tighter shadow detail, and a wider gamut on glossy and fine-art media than any 6-colour inkjet can achieve. In the UAE's strong gallery, hospitality, and high-end wedding photography sectors, this distinction justifies the investment.
Who Buys Professional Photo Printers in the UAE?
Photo printing in the UAE spans a wide range of business types. The right machine depends on your output size, volume, and whether colour accuracy is a commercial necessity or a preference.
Dubai and Abu Dhabi photography studios printing client albums, A3+ wall portraits, and same-day event prints with colour-matched consistency.
Specialist labs producing limited-edition prints, artist reproductions, and gallery-ready giclée output on museum-quality rag and canvas media.
In-house print rooms at UAE hotels producing large-format artwork, signage, and décor panels for guest areas and event spaces.
Photographers at conferences, weddings, and corporate events in the GCC who need an on-site instant-print capability for branded photo booths.
Dubai-based design studios printing large-format reference samples, material boards, and client presentation panels in-house.
Print businesses in Dubai Industrial City and Sharjah producing photo products at volume — panoramics, canvas wraps, and framed art for retail and e-commerce.
What Every Product Guide Covers
Each guide is written from the perspective of a UAE business owner, not a spec sheet.
⚠️ A Professional Photo Printer Is NOT the Right Choice If…
- You primarily print documents, text, or spreadsheets
- Your output is destined for outdoor, UV-exposed signage
- You need to print on fabric, garments, or rigid boards
- Your volume exceeds 500 A3 prints per day (look at production inkjet)
- You need printing on dark-coloured or opaque substrates
- Budget is the primary constraint — DTF or sublimation may suit better
